j_frezza1980 She is awesome! I first heard the song Flight and from that point on, I knew I had to hear more of her music!

I'm sure glad I found her, because her music is amazing! It's tough for me to pick a favorite, as I like both of these songs, but if I could only pick one, it'd be Sunlight In The Grass.

You'll enjoy her music, too! What are you waiting for?? Get it now!! Favorite track: Sunlight In The Grass.

about

Original 7" for sale: smilingc.com/stock/susan-smith-flight/

For four years, Robert Stanley and I lived and worked in a tunnel - a renovated underground penstock that started at the base of an old dam on a small river in New England. Transformed by wood and foam insulation, it became a long living space where the outside world seemed far away. At the end of the tunnel was a structure of wood, stone and glass overlooking only trees and the nearby river. It was known as the Tunnel House, and it was magical.

Music and theater filled our days and nights. We rehearsed and recorded; songwriters, musicians, poets and actors came and went. The Tunnel House was an incubator for art (and the ultimate post-show party venue).

Song ideas came fast during our time there, and much of that material went straight onto work tapes; reel-to-reel and cassettes of songs we recorded quickly, so as not to lose them before moving on to the next. We always intended to go back and develop those songs though we rarely did, so just a few ever saw the light of day; Flight is one of them. And we’ve still got the tapes!

Flight and Sunlight came from the essence of that time and place. We were grateful, in perfect moments, to tap into a current where music flowed freely, like the river outside our door.
